I have a 1961 Ford 801 that has been sitting too long. The clutch worked fine when parked by previous owner, but will not release now. Tractor runs like new, but starting in gear is not a good idea. Any suggestions before I tear down. Thanks in advance. Scott,in Healdsburg, California.

Connect the tractor to a PTO driven implement such as a bushog. Block the clutch pedal down. Quickly engage the PTO with the engine running at a slow speed. Many times the clutch will brake loose as soon as the PTO gears engage. ....
